Vitalbix Breed & Grow is a unique, high-fiber muesli formulated based on the latest nutritional insights for pregnant mares, lactating mares, foals, young horses up to 3 years old, and breeding stallions. Breed & Grow is high in fiber, low in starch and sugar, and contains a balanced level of easily absorbable vitamins, minerals, and trace elements.
Breed & Grow provides healthy energy from fiber and fats, supports healthy gastrointestinal function, and keeps pregnant and lactating mares in good condition. At the same time, Vitalbix Breed & Grow supports healthy growth in the foal and the development of strong bones, tendons, and joints.
Vitalbix Breed & Grow is a concentrated, complete feed with a high content of vitamins and minerals. This means you can feed approximately 30% less than with regular feeds, without compromising on nutritional value.

Use Vitalbix Breed & Grow as a complete supplement to roughage, or combine it with Vitalbix Fiber-Mix+, Vitalbix Pure Lucerne+, or Vitalbix NutriMash for extra protein and calories.
Support pregnant and lactating mares experiencing muscle and weight loss with approximately 0.5–1.0 kg of Vitalbix Pure Lucerne+ or Vitalbix NutriMash. If feeding more than 1 kg of Breed & Grow per day, divide it into at least 2 daily portions. This feeding recommendation assumes an adequate supply of good-quality forage. The right amount of forage is the foundation for a healthy weight. If you really want to do it right, have your forage analyzed!
Starting in the 8th month of pregnancy, your horse’s need for vitamins, minerals, and protein increases, making this the perfect time to start feeding Vitalbix Breed & Grow! Check the table to see the recommended daily amount of Vitalbix Breed & Grow for your horse.

It is best to start feeding Vitalbix Breed & Grow about 4–6 weeks before weaning to allow your foal to gradually get used to the feed. You can let your foal eat alongside its mother. Of course, you can also start feeding Vitalbix Breed & Grow at a later age. You can continue feeding Vitalbix Breed & Grow up to about 3 years of age. From 4 years onward, you can replace Vitalbix Breed & Grow with Vitalbix Daily Complete and/or Vitalbix Active+ muesli to provide the necessary vitamins and minerals.
Starting in the 8th month of pregnancy, your mare’s need for nutrients such as protein, vitamins, and minerals increases. It is therefore best to start feeding Vitalbix Breed & Grow no later than the 8th month of pregnancy. However, you can also start earlier during pregnancy or even before pregnancy to ensure your mare is in optimal condition to become pregnant.
Forage is the foundation of a healthy weight. Adjust the amount of forage to your horse’s needs. For a pregnant or lactating mare, sufficient to unlimited amounts of forage are important and form the basis of a healthy weight.
Vitalbix Breed & Grow is a complete feed designed to supplement roughage (hay/grass). With Vitalbix Breed & Grow, your mare or young horse receives all the necessary nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids. During pregnancy and lactation, your mare’s nutritional needs increase. Adjust the amount of Breed & Grow to your horse’s needs according to our feeding schedule. Vitalbix Breed & Grow is a concentrated feed with a high content of vitamins and minerals, allowing you to feed less of it than regular breeding products (approx. 30% less).
If your horse is losing weight or muscle mass, feed it unlimited amounts of roughage and supplement Vitalbix Breed & Grow as needed with Vitalbix Pure Lucerne+ and/or Vitalbix NutriMash grain-free mash.
It is important to provide your horse with sufficient roughage (hay and grass) spread out over the day and night to keep its digestive system healthy. Make sure your horse does not go without roughage for more than 4–6 hours. If your horse has stomach ulcers, do not let it go without roughage for more than 2 hours.
Vitalbix Breed & Grow has a unique high-fiber formula, is low in starch and sugars (11%), and is easily digestible.
For extra fiber, we recommend mixing one scoop of Vitalbix Pure Lucerne+ into the Breed & Grow. Alfalfa encourages chewing and saliva production and helps regulate stomach pH.
As a supplement, you can feed 1–2 servings of Vitalbix NutriMash grain-free mash daily.
Vitalbix Breed & Grow isn’t just very healthy—it’s also very tasty and is generally well-received, even by the pickiest eaters! Still unsure and want to try Vitalbix Breed & Grow first? Vitalbix Breed & Grow is also available in400-gram sample packs.
Thanks to its high-fiber composition, relatively high energy and protein content, and high proportion of easily absorbable vitamins and minerals, Breed & Grow is also highly suitable for older horses (who tend to lose weight quickly). Breed & Grow can be supplemented as needed with Vitalbix Pure Lucerne+, Vitalbix NutriMash, and Vitalbix Linseed Oil + Vitamin E for extra protein and calories.
Roughage is the foundation of a healthy weight. If your horse is losing weight, increase the amount of roughage (hay/grass) and then supplement with Vitalbix as needed.

It is not only the exact levels of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements that are important for a healthy diet; the ratios between these nutrients are just as important. If these ratios are out of balance, the nutrients will compete with one another, which can lead to deficiencies and, consequently, health problems. All Vitalbix products contain a carefully balanced ratio of nutrients to ensure optimal absorption.
